Dad-Is Busy!

So yesterday Bailey brought home all her school work for the year. Necole was reading her daily journal. Page after page, this is what Bailey wrote:
- My dad loves me, but he is alwasy busy.
- Today my dad was busy…We did not get to play.
- I want to spend more time with my dad, but he was busy.
Honestly, I spend a lot of time with my kids. But the reality is this-I’m not truly present. I’m always doing other stuff. Therefore I’m making some changes.
This has caused deep sadness and conviction for me.
that sucks! i know how you feel. went home for lunch today to ‘be present’ and then after lunch michael asks if i can go play soccer with him, to which i respond that i have to go back to work. i’m not sure we can win this one. i appreciated your post last week about your schedule as well. constantly thinking about how to manage that…
