This morning I had the privilege of meeting Tom Davis. Tom is the CEO of Children’s Hopechest, which also runs 5For50. Tom has also wrote multiple books such as Red Letters & Fields of the Fatherless. (Is this dude busy or what)
I saw on his Twitter that he’s was going to be in Austin. That is what I love about social media. It gives us the leverage to connect, and we did over coffee at Russell’s Bakery.
Tom is already doing what I want to do. So it’s nice to be able to hear his story and learn from his journey. It was a true encouragement. They are doing some amazing work and I’m looking forward to future conversations as we journey together to fight poverty, bring hope to the poor and expand the Kingdom of God.
I truly believe the moment you stop learning is the moment you stop leading. The best way to learn is following people who have already done what you want to do. Learning from leaders is such an invaluable resource we all need to tap into.

That’s crazy. I just met a friend of his here in Raleigh and will be meeting him in January as a few of us get together here. Crazy how a bunch of us who are involved in similar work are connecting. That idea of yours for a non-profit cohort is even more interesting now…
