As always, life on the road is busy. It’s always hard to find a moment to update the blog. But, here we go:
The drive from Austin to Raleigh was rainy the entire way. But, we still had a smooth trek. Saturday night we stayed in Asheville, which is a great mountain city in W. Carolina. Sunday we arrived in Raleigh around 3PM. We had to be a Visio Dei at 4PM for the Raleigh Launch Party.
Here are some additional thoughts on the launch party.
- We had a good crowd, lots of first-time friends,
- Visio Dei was amazing, they had dessert, coffee and a lot of volunteers.
- Both bands were great.
- We had local photographers and artists at the show, which was awesome!
- I did not really share well. I was for whatever reason A.D.D. Maybe it was the 22 hours drive and meds I was on for some psycho ear infection. Ugh!!!
- Lot of traction from a vision perspective, which is good!
- Found a spelling error in our folders. *sigh*
Thanks for everyone who came out. It means a ton to the HELP team.
Tuesday I had lunch with Jeff Ramsey, great conversation about HELP and our vision. Love Visio, they are a great church doing global work even though they are young!
Last night a handful of folks got together to chat about the church, mission, gospel and all things connected to ending poverty both locally and globally!
Mike Morrell who is connected to The Ooze, Vince Giordano who works with Children’s Hopechest, Bill Cummings who is starting Lemonade International, Hugh Hollowell of Love Wins Ministries, Hugh works with the homeless in Raleigh, Wes Belier who works with Downtown Raleigh Alliance and MIke Faas, who works in the local tech industry, Mike and Wes are old Sacred peeps!
It was a fun night of networking and learning how we can help each other. Lot’s of creativity and passion, good times!
