Next month I will be attending and facilitating a soon-to-announced discussion at the Idea Camp in DC. I really appreciate Charles, he is the ultimate networker who seems to always be wanting to help people collaborate and advance the Kingdom of God through creative initiatives, local church involvement and compassion and justice projects.
Here is why I think the Idea Camp is special…It goes beyond the traditional conferences that tend to focus on the “formal” church. (these conf are good) Yes, you will find plenty of pastors at the Idea Camp, but, you will also find many other leaders who are working outside of the traditional church structures like: activists, social entrepreneurs, creatives, intellectuals, young, old, men & women, black, white and brown…Yes, I love it!
Also, every Idea Camp has a theme. This Idea Camp’s theme is Justice & Compassion. And, before I forget to mention this, the entire conference is FREE.
Here’s a list of organizations that are involved and here is a list of individuals who are participating.
If you want to be involved in a conference that is filled with collaboration, conversation and idea making, a conference that will bring key leaders to help us walk-through some ideas and possibilities, but still create a “non-superstar-culture” and a place where “everyone” has a voice, than I would say the Idea Camp is for you!
You can check out the Idea Camp’s social networking site here, follow-us on Twitter, join us on Facebook and watch some previous sessions from Irvine, CA on Vimeo.
Hope to see you in DC, but even if you can’t make it to DC, the Idea Camp is bigger than one event, there are many ways to get involved and feel connected as we encourage each other to create amazing idea’s that will make the world a better place!

Wow, sounds like a great conference to me! I wish I could be there… – alex
