I want to thank so many of our good friends who have traveled with us in spirit as we’ve journey from Austin to Raleigh this summer. God has been gracious and so many of you have been so supportive.
Here’s a quick update and some prayer requests.
This morning we dropped our kids off for the 1st day of school. We were all excited and a bit nervous. But we are happy the kids get to connect with new friends. I love summer, but we are looking forward to finding more sustainable rhythms again.
Lucky for us, we were able to spend three awesome days at the beach this past weekend before school started. The beach seems to be one place where kids can be kids: play, run, scream, and simply enjoy life. It was a good three days for sure.
Necole is now a licensed cosmetologists in NC. Which means she can work! Now, we need to find her a good salon, and build her clientele. Please pray for us as we journey forward. We really need the dual incomes.
HELP is launching a new website this Thursday. We are also launching Help One Now (adopt-a-kid) Sept 1st. Sept 12 Soma Church in Austin is throwing a garage sale party to help us build an orphanage. This is a critical time for us, as we try to accomplish our 2009 goals. I love the challenge. Pray that we find favor with God and Man as we rescue and restore orphans and create a healthy stateside operations.
Yesterday, I was walking around Downtown Raleigh. It was the first time since I’ve returned that my heart begin to break for the city. I hope to blog about this more in the upcoming days.
This Thursday I head to DC for the Idea Camp. I will also blog more about this later today!
Please pray for us, pray that more than anything we obey and honor God, love and serve the global poor and our city.
Shalom!
Chris

Good chatting with you yesterday. You guys are in my prayers. I’ll try to get people to donate or buy from the garage sale.
