We spent the last 3 days in Asheville, NC. Got to be honest, it was three of the best days we’ve had as a family in a long time. We did nothing but play, laugh, and eat. It felt good to just relax with no agenda. Some thoughts:
- Rest is good, we need to embrace this.
- Reality: Day-to-day life is stressful. You have to break-a-way from it at times to breath.
- Nature is spiritual. You feel more connected to God, and each other.
- Kids grow quickly, parents have to spend time creating memories, and moments of love and joy.
Asheville is really a great, funky, eclectic city. Lot’s of restaurants, shops, cafes, bookstores, art galleries etc, great vibe for sure!
Some of our adventures:
1. Hung out at Chimney Rock.
2. Went hiking in Dupont Natural Forest.
3. Spent lots of time in downtown Asheville.
4. Took a drive on Blue Ridge Parkway.
The good news, we spent no cash except for gas, hotels and food. Lot’s of fun for little cash, my kind of get-a-way!

Hey man, did you guys stop at the store on Blue Ridge that sells cider. That stuff is like heaven’s elixir. The place looks like a dive, but it is a favorite stop of ours. Chimney Rock is workout! Looking forward to hanging out this week!
