It’s Friday, and I can’t believe I’m leaving for Haiti in just four days. Three weeks ago we committed to going, we literally had one week that we could pull the trigger, and move forward.
We did, and I thought I made a mistake.
As of this past Monday, we had no place to stay, no vehicle/driver/translator and no key connections. And, we did not have the necessary funds to cover the cost of the trip!
A lot has changed in one week.
We are thankful for the individual donors, and churches that sent us funds to cover the cost of the trip! (whew)
We are thankful for multiple friends, and connections, who have taken care of us, and offered to help us while in Haiti. Friends like Troy Livesay, Mission of Hope, Thirst No More, Darren Tyler and others. They all have been so gracious and helpful.
Here’s what I’ve learned. Sometimes you have to lead with a YES, and trust that God is going to provide, and then work hard, real hard. We tend to spend so much of our time being timid, scared and fearful. And usually, we bail on God’s plan, when things get hard.
Don’t. Hang in their, fight, and trust. Five days ago, I was worried that maybe I had made a mistake. Maybe, we were not supposed to go to Haiti. But, I knew in my heart that we needed to go, and God was faithful, and His church was supportive, and helpful, and now I’m more confident in God’s will.
Here’s how you can pray for us, as we journey to Haiti next week!

Enjoyed hanging with you last night and hearing more about your passion for social justice. Thanks for being the Hands and Feet. I am praying for y’all!
